Prerequisite: Basic I or equivalent Now that your dog has some basic skills, we will add distance and distractions and raise the bar on what we've learned to build even greater focus, impulse control and reliability. Door etiquette, WAIT (don't move forward), return to heel and the principles of targeting are introduced. If your dog has been playing hooky, this is the perfect refresher course! New classes start on EACH of the dates listed below. Monday, September 13 at 8:00pm SOLD OUT! Sunday, October 10 at 11:30am SOLD OUT! Prerequisite: Basic II or equivalent This 5-week course puts it all together by setting up challenging scenarios for you and your dog to work thru using everything you've learned so far with increased distance and distractions. New exercises include stand, settle and place (go to bed). Provides a terrific foundation for our more advanced classes like "Unleashed" and for doggie sports like Rally and Meet the Obstacles (agility). The final class project is truly a work of art....your dog will do you proud!
Next Class Starts this Fall! Contact Us if Interested.
$110 for 4-Week Course This is the single most important behavior you can teach your dog, yet by far the most underpracticed. This course is also recommended for Hunting Dog Enthusiasts. See Buddy's testimonial. New classes start on EACH of the dates listed below. Tuesday, September 7 at 8:00pm Prerequisite: Basic II or equivalent or Permission of Instructor
$135 for 5-Week Course (test fee is separate).
Successful completion of the AKC Canine Good Citizen test (CGC) is an accomplishment to be proud of. The test is open to both mixed-breed and purebred dogs and closely mirrors the testing provided through therapy dog agencies. In this 5-week course, you and your dog will work as a team to prepare for all components of the test. Testing is optional so this also makes for a great refresher course. Visit http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/training_testing.cfm to learn more about becoming a CGC. Next Class Starts this Fall! Contact Us if Interested. Prerequisite: Basic III or Permission of Instructor The goal of this course is to establish dog/handler teamwork and focus in an off-leash (indoor) environment. Participants are coached on how to maintain control of their dogs thru a series of unleashed challenges. Whether you would like to increase your dog's off-leash reliability for safety, recreation or competition purposes, this is the course for you! Dog-friendly dogs only.
