We originally contacted Leslie for Haley’s stubborn potty-training problem. Frustration was getting the best of us and we were questioning our decision to adopt her. Not only has housebreaking been successful, but Haley has come a long way with her obedience skills. She goes to her bed on command, behaves at the front door and greets visitors politely. Overall, our relationship with Haley has improved and we enjoy having her as part of our family.
How long do I have to use a Training Package?
By purchasing private training sessions, owners are making a commitment to their dog, to themselves, to It’s Your Dog and to the training process. We want to be certain you achieve your desired goals. Therefore, all 1:1 private sessions on account expire 90 days from the date of your last service.
What is your policy on Cancellations/Reschedules & Refunds?
By purchasing private training sessions, owners are making a commitment to their dog, to themselves, to IYD and to the training process. Please know that all scheduled sessions are reserved especially for you and your family and, while we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, once scheduled, we may have turned away other clients for that timeslot. Therefore:
- Cancellations or reschedules require 48-hour advance notice to enable us to help another family which might otherwise have to wait. Less than 48-hours notice will result in forfeiture of the session.
- In the event of a cancellation prior to the 48-hour window, we will do our best to reschedule your session as soon thereafter as possible. However, we can not guarantee that an opening will be readily available. Weekend slots, in particular, tend to fill quickly. Please keep this in mind if you are considering a reschedule.
- Once training has begun, all deposits, sessions and packages are non-refundable.
Is it OK for my entire family to participate in the training?
Absolutely! We encourage everyone to attend so long as safety and success are foremost. In fact, kids who show an interest in training tend to do it well!
What is your policy on canine vaccines and health concerns?
For the health and safety of all, including our trainers and other dogs they may come in contact with:
1) The dog in training and all other dogs in the home must be current on all age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies and distemper/parvo) and maintain current status throughout the course of training with IYD.
2) We understand that your dog may attend dog parks, daycare and boarding kennels from time to time. Please keep in mind that while vaccines may minimize the severity of symptoms, they may not prevent your dog from becoming infectious. Accordingly, see #3 below.
3) Please advise us immediately and seek veterinary care if you notice nasal discharge, runny eyes, coughing, sneezing, fever, a change in appetite or if your dog has worms, fleas or other parasites. Please ask your vet if you are unsure if your pet’s condition could be contagious.
4) A two (2)-week waiting period is required before resuming training after receiving veterinary treatment for a communicable condition (kennel cough, fleas, etc.). Written vet permission may be required.
Is the outcome of my dog's training guaranteed?
Because of the variables in dog breeding and temperament, and owner commitment and experience, rendering guarantees as to the outcome of dog training is deemed unethical. Accordingly, our professional affiliations with the Certification Counsel for Professional Dog Trainers and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants require that we not provide guarantees regarding specific outcomes of training and behavior modification programs. However, we do guarantee that you will receive exceptional and professional customer service from our staff and access to knowledgeable, force-free trainers with current skills maintained thru continuing education.
